Our Story
In 2008, Riverside Ranch founder Mr Laurence Sher and his wife, Mrs Sherice Sher, purchased a farm to give their two children the freedom of nature and open spaces to grow. Their daughter, Erin, loved horses, while their son, Gabriel, spent his time enjoying the fishing waters of the Vaal River.
It was during these early years, with the influence of Uncle Brian Sher, that the family purchased their first pedigree Brahman cattle from a neighbouring farm — the start of a passion that would shape Riverside Ranch for years to come.
What began with a small commercial herd has grown into a proud breeding operation, producing hardy and fertile Simbra cross and Simmentaler cross cattle. In 2022, we entered the pedigree market with one clear choice — Brahman. Through our embryo programme, we now offer top-quality bloodlines to the market.
